FAQ's for Health Services

 Q. Can RAHC help your organisation?

 A. RAHC has been established to support the strengthening and expansion of health services in the NT through the provision of short-term (3 weeks up to 3 months) health professional staff inputs. If your organisation has short term needs or ongoing vacancies that you need some help with contact RAHC.

Q. Does RAHC arrange travel for the health professional?

A. Yes. RAHC is funded to support all travel for health professionals from their home to the community or service and back home again at the end of the placement.

Q. How are RAHC staff paid?

A. RAHC engages staff on behalf of your health service at the rates of pay you advise us to appoint them on. RAHC pays the staff directly and then bills the clinic or health service for the same amount.

Q. Can RAHC help with the long term staff needs?

A. RAHC is here to help with short-term needs. If you have ongoing needs as a RAHC placement comes to an end then we are happy to discuss this request and arrange for a subsequent placement. Wherever possible and appropriate, RAHC will work to facilitate repeat placements for health professionals so there is some continuity of care and relationships.

Q. What does the AMS or clinic need to do?

A. Let RAHC know of your staffing requirements as far as possible in advance of need. We will work to find a suitable candidate and seek your approval for the appointment. You need to be able to provide accomodation ans ensure someone provides the health professional with clinical and community orientation and support soon after they arrive.

Q. How does RAHC ensure staff are qualified?

A. RAHC undertakes a comprehensive review of professional qualifications, experience and references and organises the necessary NT registration for the health professional. Staff arrive ready to work.

 Q. Does RAHC provide any training to the health professionals?

 A. RAHC is committed to ensuring staff are well prepared for this new and challenging experience. RAHC arranges cultural training and clinical orientation to prepare staff for work in remote communities.
