| Description: | A General Practitioner is required to provide general health care at an Aboriginal Medical Services health centre in Darwin. Position can be filled for 2-3 week locums. Duties include: assessment and management of a broad range of clinical problems in consultation with Aboriginal Health Workers, Remote Area Nurses, and the provision of preventative health checks and involvement in health promotion work. RAHC will provide all personnel with cultural training and clinical orientation prior to the start of a placement. In addition, RAHC will arrange all travel from point of origin to the destination and return. Accommodation is provided. |
| Experience, qualifications and documentation required: | Hold a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery. Provide details of lifetime professional registration history, including evidence of current unrestricted professional registration. A Letter of Good Standing if required. Details of endorsement or accreditation by professional colleges, associates or societies for the provision of specific clinical services, procedures or other interventions. Details of all past and continuing health care-related employment. Two referees that can attest to the Doctors clinical expertise. Evidence of recent FRACGP QA&CPD or ACRRM PDP. Evidence of medical indemnity insurance. Desirable but not essential criteria: Current NT Registration (we can obtain on your behalf) Prior experience working in remote communities and/or Aboriginal health. Familiarity or knowledge of the CARPA Standard Treatment Manual. |
