Registered Midwives
We need Registered Midwives to fill short-term placements in remote Indigenous communities in the Northern Territory. Placements are paid and from as little as three weeks. Cultural and Clinical training is provided before the placement commences.

Qualifications, experience and documentation required for Midwives:
Registered Nurse - Midwife - Independent Practice
- Completion of an education program leading to registration to practice as a Registered Midwife
- Unrestricted Registration to practice as a Registered Midwife
- RAHC will search on AHPRA for evidence of Australian registration.
- Post graduate experience of at least two years in Midwifery
- Two referees who can attest to the nurse’s clinical competence, i.e. Obstetrician, Gynaecologist, Supervisor or Clinical colleague
- Evidence of Basic Life Support or Advanced Life Support competency (completed within the last 12 months)
- Minimum of 250 hours clinical practice in midwifery every 12 months
- Evidence of continuing professional development in the past 12 months
- Proof of midwifery competence in the following technical skills:
- Bachelor of Nursing, or equivalent
- Completion of an education program leading to registration to practice as a Registered Midwife
- Unrestricted Registration to practice as a Registered Midwife and General Nurse
- Copy of current Australian National Registration Certificate or Licence
- Post graduate experience of at least two years in Midwifery
- Minimum of 250 hours clinical practice in midwifery every 12 months
- Evidence of continuing professional development in the past 12 months
- Evidence of current Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Advanced (Cardiac) Life Support (ALS/ACLS) certificate and Neonatal resuscitation
- Two referees who can attest to the nurse’s clinical competence, i.e. Obstetrician, Gynaecologist, Supervisor or Clinical colleague
- A Northern Territory Working with Children Clearance Card (*Please note: RAHC will pay for the Working with Children check on behalf of our health professionals)
- A current National Police Check (*Please note: RAHC will pay for the Working with Children check on behalf of our health professionals)
