About Giving Vaccines
Important information – changes to AGV and NT vaccination training
From 01 January 2017 the Northern Territory (NT) About Giving Vaccine Course will no longer be available.
Registered Nurses and/or Midwives working for RAHC who need to complete immunisation training are advised to complete the South Australian (SA) online course titled 'Understanding Vaccines and National Immunisation Program'.
Certain interstate courses are now recognised in the Northern Territory. If you have completed an approved interstate immunisation course please confirm that the course is recognised in the NT Gazette (link). You must supply RAHC with a copy of your interstate immunisation certificate or qualification.
If you do not see your course listed in the Gazette please check with NT CDC about interstate recognition in the NT.

Nurses without an immunisation certificate
Vaccination courses are not a mandatory requirement for applying to RAHC and for the credentialing process. However it is a mandatory requirement of the Northern Territory Department of Health that you have an immunisation qualification prior to placement. Therefore RAHC recommends that you complete an immunisation course prior to placement.
RAHC strongly recommends that nurses the South Australian (SA) online course (link) titled 'Understanding Vaccines and National Immunisation Program .
