Congratulations to COVID-19 Response and Action Information Group at the Top End Health Service on winning the Collaborative Team Award at the 2020 CRANAplus Awards
Congratulations to the COVID-19 Response and Action Information Group at the Top End Health Service for winning the CRANAplus 2020 Collaborative Team Award which was help digitally this year.
The team members including Ruth Derkenne, Kelly Hosking, Jane Thomas, Tracy Porter and Teresa De Santis were recognised for providing an innovative approach to the delivery of healthcare during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This team has worked tirelessly since the start of COVID-19 to produce plans and procedures for remote clinics to follow. They have designed and developed easy to wipe down gowns made of parachute material so the health professionals (HPs) could practice donning and doffing whilst not having to throw away precious PPE. The team also travelled to remote clinics offering donning and doffing face-to-face training.
The COVID-19 Response and Action Information Group have continually kept up-to-date with the multiple changes that have occurred during the pandemic which lead to the creation of the CRAIG newsletter which included plans and resources available to the remote clinics. They have also helped train and pull together the Rapid Assessment and Rapid Response Teams, who are on-call to be deployed into remote locations in case of COVID-19 outbreak.
