NAIDOC week 2013

This week is NAIDOC week

and wherever you currently live or work, there are a number of opportunities for you to get involved in your community. NAIDOC week is celebrated by Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples alike – it is an excellent opportunity to get involved in a variety of events and support your local Indigenous community members.

The NAIDOC website offers a local events calendar, providing up to date information about each event in your area including dates, locations and a description.

NAIDOC originally stood for ‘National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee’ and started almost 100 years ago – to learn more about the NAIDOC timeline, please visit the NAIDOC history webpage.

For more information about NAIDOC and how you can get involved in your community, please visit the NAIDOC website.
