Share your inspiring remote placement story for Primary Health Care Nursing Week organised by the Australian College of Nursing

The Australian College of Nursing (ACN) has announced the launch of the Community and Primary Health Care Nursing Week: Nurses where you need them, their annual national campaign.

This campaign aims to:

  • raise awareness to increase the wellbeing of individuals and communities
  • provide information for roles and career opportunities
  • inform the general public in order to increase their health awareness about community-based options.

ACN is seeking contributions to the Community and Primary Health Care: Nurses where you need them 2016 eBook, a collection of stories from and about community and primary health care nurses.

To take part, please share your inspiring story of 500 words max that will focus on 'when' community and primary health nursing care is provided. The ‘when’ may refer to a life phase, such as prenatal, early childhood, adolescence, ageing or dying, or a point in time when nurses care for individuals, such as when there are drug and alcohol issues, settling as a refugee, transitioning home after hospitalisation, during incarceration and a myriad of other times.

If you have an interest in sharing a story that describes a time ‘when’ nursing care you received has impacted on your health and wellbeing or when your nursing care has improved the lives of individuals and/or communities, then we encourage you to please submit your story. Submissions close on 1 September 2016.

If you would like to learn more, or share your story, you could email your stories to us at [email protected] and we will forward it across to them.
