Take the steps to apply

You don’t need to have previous experience working in remote communities or with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We’ll support you along the way.

There are some things you can do to make sure your application process goes smoothly.

Check your eligibility

Check that you have the right skills, experience and qualifications.

We require certain evidence to do this for:

The process

Tell us you’re interested

If you meet the minimum criteria, begin an application. At the start, you will answer some questions about eligibility.

If you pass, you will proceed to the Jobs Portal to apply.

Complete your application

Gather your documents ready for upload in the final step of the application process.

That includes filling out these forms:

In the Jobs Portal, you will:

  • enter your email address, confirm your identity and add your contact details
  • complete a set of application questions
  • upload your CV
  • upload supporting documents (although you can submit your application without uploading these and email them to us later).

Once you start your application, the system can’t save it. Make sure you continue through to the end and submit. If you close your application at any time, the system will delete it.

Send in your supporting documents

If you didn't submit your supporting documents through the Jobs Portal process, email them to us at [email protected]

We can’t process your application until you have submitted all the required documents.

Get a response

After you submit your application through the Jobs Portal, we'll contact you within 5 business days.

We may ask you to complete other forms or send us other documents. Once we have everything we need for your application, we’ll put you forward for credentialling.

An independent expert will complete the credentialling.

Complete an EOI

After you’ve been credentialled, we’ll ask you to complete an EOI (Expression of Interest) for a placement in a remote NT Aboriginal community.

It’s important to note that placements aren’t guaranteed.

A health service may select you based on their local needs. If they do, we’ll support you with all the arrangements for your remote health placement.
